Oktoberfest at the Speakeasy
Beer and Wine Tasting
Calling all craft beer lovers, wine afficionados and those who want to know more:
We’re BAAACK! You’ve likely noticed at most Nationals, a small and dedicated group who love their local and not so local craft breweries, wineries and distilleries and always bring some of their local best to talk about and share year after year.
SCA 23 is during Oktoberfest season (Oktoberfest is celebrated beginning in mid-September because of the longer days and warmer weather), but in 1923, America was dry… at least on the surface. Let’s head back to 1923 and celebrate our love of good “hooch” together at the Speakeasy! This intimate gathering is devoted to the sampling of craft beers, wine & spirits from around the country. For several years now we have been seeking out local purveyors near our Specialties and this year we have a unique opportunity for spirit lovers to BYO in growlers, can or bottles and get together to sample and discuss the merits of special offerings. Extra credit for bringing stickers, coasters or other paraphernalia to share and trade. Light snacks will be furnished or bring some to share. 
Admission is a ticket plus your favorite spirits to share. (A couple bottles/cans of CRAFT brew, or your favorite small batch wine or spirit) Home made beer, wine or spirits are especially welcome.
Tickets are $5 per person (MUST be 21 or over) and may be ordered below along with our limited edition t-shirts. Shirt design will be revealed at the Speakeasy and will not be available elsewhere. If we have any extra shirts, they may be available at the Speakeasy. Any profits go to SCA 2023. Note: NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES will be SOLD, this is strictly a BYO event. Your ticket price covers cost of the event - setups, light snacks and your ticket is your entry for doorprizes!
This gathering is a safe zone. No beer muscles.

- When: Thursday Night 9pm or after the annual meeting - (a good excuse to keep things short and sweet)
- Where: ON SITE location to be announced at SCA23 Registration Table - Speakeasy’s are Secret, No? (No need for a DD!)
- Requirements: Bring your favorite Regional Craft Beer or Vintage, must be 21 or older to enter (VA law)
- Tickets $5 per person. Pre-registration only, a VERY limited number of tickets MAY be available at door if we don’t sell out!
